Safe approach videos

Safe approach videos show the boaters a safe way to approach PortMate small ports. Videos for the small ports in Rauma, Finland are ready and published in YouTube. Videos for the PortMate small ports in Åland and Sweden will be published by the end of September 2019.

Online short courses

PortMate Online Short Courses are brief courses for boaters, other small port visitors and small port operators. Short courses cover themes both of the projects’ main themes: safety and resource efficiency (10 videos).

Most risky situations in boating

Safety is a major theme for PortMate. In this series, PortMate presents critical situations that boaters can face while sailing.

Sustainable technological solutions for small ports

The resource efficiency of small ports is important for both boaters and port owners. In this video, PortMate presents introduction to the planning, purchase and installations of photovoltaic systems (PV) in small ports.

Objectives:

  • PortMate will enhance safe access, suitable green services and joint marketing in small ports

 

  • PortMate facilitates the delivery of improved services for port users in 19 Central Baltic small ports

 

  • Project’s pilot ports are located in Finland, Åland and Sweden

 

  • The best service development practices of these small ports will be expanded to other Central Baltic areas

Activities:

  • Formation of interactive step-by-step guidance by using ICT solutions, compatible with those currently used by the operators, for seafarers on safe arrival, stay and departure to/from the ports

 

  • Investments in sustainable and resource efficient infrastructure on land (e.g. solar energy, sanitation, LED lightning and WiFi availability)

 

  • Connecting the small port operators with each other and with seafarers in the small ports to meet the needs for services and their availability

Welcome to the PortMate Final Conference in Rauma!

You are very welcome to join us for the Central Baltic PortMate final conference in Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, Merikoulu Campus (Rauma, Finland) on Thursday September 12th 2019 at 10:00-15:30.

The project team will present the results achieved in the PortMate pilot small ports as well as release the www.portmate.eu webtool. In addition, a variety of other Central Baltic small port projects are introduced.

The conference is free of charge.
